Kisii burning house
A mother and her two children perished after fire gutted their house in Bonyando village, Kisii South, area police commander has confirmed.
Another child who survived the flames is currently fighting for his life in one of Kisii’s private hospitals. The father, who fled the ordeal unscathed, has also been admitted hospital after being shocked of what might have led to the death of his wife and children.
The two children were burned beyond recognition, and their mother is alleged to have died shortly after being brought to the hospital.
Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kasses says the incident is under investigation and so far no arrests had been made.
“Once our investigations are complete, we will be able to determine the cause of the fire.”
It is unclear what caused the fire, with reports indicating that the house was not connected to electricity.
