
Intense investigations have been launched by the DCI to unearth a group of criminals who are robbing residence of Kayole -Nairobi county in broad day light. In a recently reported incident a boda boda rider was found murdered and his motorcycle stolen.
The rider had been hired by unknown people who wanted to be dropped at Kware before he was attacked and killed on Thursday. According to the police at the crime scene, the rider’s body had deep cuts on the head and was bleeding.
Police suspect he resisted attempts by his killers to rob him of the motorcycle. So far the motorcycle had not been recovered and no arrests had been made. The deceased body was moved to the mortuary ahead of a planned autopsy.
The boda boda industry is undergoing reforms with the ongoing registration of all operators, which started in March.
Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident in which a man allegedly set himself a blaze in his house in Kiserian, Kajiado.
The body of James Njoroge was discovered in his iron sheet-made house long after he had died.
He had swallowed an unknown amount of paraffin and later poured himself with the same before starting the fire.
The body was moved to the mortuary.
Three prison warders have been arrested in two separate incidents for trafficking narcotics.
One was arrested at the Machakos Prisons as he tried to sneak into the facility with 67 rolls of cannabis sativa, a sachet of muguka and local tobacco.
He had hidden the contraband in the inner trousers he was wearing and also had uniforms on the same.
Two other prison warders were arrested after they were found with 200 grams of bhang.
The two were riding on a motorcycle when they were stopped by police in Industrial Area, Nairobi.
They are both attached to the Industrial Area Prisons.
Police said they plan to charge them with possession of the narcotic, which is a criminal offence
