
More than 14 people have been injured after a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) they were travelling in lost control at Mutithi – Kagio junction on the Mwea – Embu highway in Kirinyaga County.
According to eye witness the driver of the matatu that was ferrying passengers from Embu to Nairobi lost control after hitting a tuk tuk from behind, then rolled into a ditch near a rice farm.
The tuk tuk rider, who was heading to Mutithi from Kandongu at the time of the accident, was however not injured.
Good Samaritans took the 14 injured persons to White Rose nursing home hospital in Mutithi for treatment.
Traffic officers from Sagana Police Station arrived at the scene after the accident and towed the wreckage of the matatu to Sagana police station.
